Dr. Amir Ahmed recently joined the practice CHRISTUS Medical Group Santa Catalina 's of gastroenterology and hepatology.
Ahmed is certified and has special interest in colorectal cancer, Barrett's esophagus' s, inflammatory diseases and disorders of the biliary tract.

Ahmed studied medicine at the University of Dundee Ninewells Hospital and teaching in Scotland, considered one of the top three medical schools in the UK. After graduating with honors, he moved to the United States to perform his residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins University Bayview Medical Center in Maryland. He also pursued a full-time research of gastroenterology in the study of liver diseases at Johns Hopkins and completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
